Is there a good MIG/Plasma 120/240V combo machine?

In the 1970s I worked in a Fab shop building nuclear waste tanks. The lifting ring was 4" x 8" rolled flat bar. We had to put a 1 7/8" fillet weld top and bottom. The tanks were 8-feet in diameter.

sounds grueling, sir.

but a good example of how it's done. a root pass and then building a fillet profile on top of it. you'll never get full penetration on the root with something that thick, so you build the fillet profile on top of it to compensate.

Everlast makes a combo Unit. Mig-Tig-Plasma. Great machines

Do you have a link to that?

They only offer MIG/TIG/stick or TIG/Stick/Plasma multiprocess.

Nothing with MIG and Plasma in one as OP is seeking

I don't think there are any MIG/Plasma combos out there currently.

Thanks. for that.
I personally don't really see any benefit to have an all in one unit unless you work "out in the field" at various locations, and have limited space for transport. But I think most of us have a shop or dedicated work area where you'll do all of your work <snip>

And if you must know I'm "commuting" 3 or 4 times a year between northeast Mississippi and just outside DC and "transport space" is often limited.

understood.
Do you have an air compressor at both locations? You'll need that along with a plasma.

Was just trying to think out loud about your options. Whether it was space you were concerned about, or budget, or both. honestly a small MIG and a small plasma aren't that much space. yes it's an extra thing to carry, but a current TIG/STICK/PLASMA combo is probably only 6" shorter in height compared to a small inverter MIG with a small 50amp plasma sitting on top of it...

Just giving you things to think about.. If you were in need of one in the near future, or just feel like getting by for the time being in hopes of a MIG/Plasma combo coming out in 1-2-3 years.

Unless you can get by with a Hypertherm 30XP Air!
