Used a friends 1660 today and his hydrolics are a lot faster than mine. It seems like mine have slowed down. I have almost 800 hours on it and it's an '09. It looks like there might be a linkage inside the the console. It's a 1653.

Have you changed the filters and fluid at the recommended intervals?

I checked tonight, there is only 105 hrs on the filter and oil. The 3 pt seems to work fine. Any other ideas? I might change the filter again anyway.

Does the 1653 have the same loader and flow rate as the 1660? Flow rate or GPM = speed of operation.

The flow rate is slightly faster on the 1660, but the difference is HUGE. Oh, and it's a1652. I got a new filter today, I am going to try that.

There is an adjustment at the handle!

If your FEL joystick has some slop in the movement, the nuts could be working loose and the control valves may not be fully opening. Remove the rubber cover and look at the mechanism. Each of the ball swivels has a nut holding them to the handle, if they get loose it impeds the amount that you can open the valves. I have them come completely loose on my Yanmar. Luckily the nuts were still laying on top of the valve so I just had to put them back on and tighten them up.
I would check that prior to changing the filter. The filter shouldn't be clogged in 105 hours unless you left something open and filled it with dirt.

At a set tractor engine rpm, your pump will produce a certain amount of fluid flow in GPM's

How much flow to any hyd component depends on how you apply the valve lever.

To verify if your tractor is putting out the stated GPM's, have a hyd shop do a flow and pressure check.

To verify the flow yourself, get a 5 gal bucket and remove one of the cyl hose and place it in the 5 gal bucket, marked off in 1 gal increments.

Start tractor and push lever to max for 6 sec.

If your tractor has a 10 GPM pump flow, you should see fluid at the 1 gal line.

If your tractor has 8 GPm flow rate, then you should see 1 gal in 7.5 sec

You can do this in a 1 gal jug also.

There are 2 adjustments, one for loader up and down, the other is for bucket curl. Each adjustment has a swivel on a threaded rod, loosen the lock nut and shorten or lengthen the threaded rod as desired and tighten up the lock nut. Done
