3-Point Hitch Is there an easier way to attach equipment?

Actually, this is a common problem, especially for people with less grip strength. Plus, more manufacturers are putting brakes on the PTO to keep the PTO from turning. I have the strength to turn most of my implements by hand or I have the reach to get to a pulley to help turn it so the splines line up. Some of my tractors I can grasp the PTO shaft and turn it too ( with gloves...).

However, my wife could almost never get the tiller on because it sat on the tines and you couldn't turn it. You can hook it up, then lift it, and then connect the PTO though. Up to a 6 foot implement it can be done. Go to 8/10 12 or more and it gets really hard.

Steve is right, Mary, in your case, although it may cost money, the iMatch Autohitch may be the best thing since sliced bread. Especially because you have decreases wrist movement and strength, and a less than flexible back.

The quick hitch adds about that much extra length, so I don't think I'll have to do any cutting. I found I have to raise the mower a little because of the extra length so I can get it on the PTO. My neighbor and worked for over an hour on trying to hitch it up the first time. I stepped back and looked at the angle & when we raised it, it was easier getting on.

Now that you helped me solve that problem, I dug up an old part off of something, looks like a step on on a wagon or some other equipment. I have a couple of pictures posted on Grit.com blogs

Considering all the troubles I think Id just wear out my pto brake ASAP and change the fluid.

thanks will try that.
I have a 5 ft Big Bee mower and a Taylor tiller, so will the iMatch work? Mary

Mary,
If you are using a quick hitch with these implements now an IMatch should fit also. I would verify all the changes needed and the cost for all of it first.

The way the autoconnect pto works is really simple. The tractor side of the pto shaft is extended to the center of the IMatch frame and fixed in position, the implements pto drivelines are fixed to the same position. When you connect the IMatch up the two drivelines should be directly opposed to each other. There is a lever on top of the hitch that you can reach from the seat that slides a coupler to connect the two drivelines together.

Other than the parking stands you can change between pto and non pto implements without leaving the tractor seat.

If me, I would try turning the key on (do not start) and engage the PTO. Then see if that releases the PTO brake on the shaft.

The 3032e is not set up for offseat PTO, so that won't work...

I generally handle alignment by nudging the PTO shaft one way or another. With the rotary tiller, leaning it forward or backwards just a bit (with the tines sitting on the ground) will let cause the shaft to rotate just enough to get an alignment. If necessary, that can be done with the top link. With the finish mower, I'll stick a wrench or heavy screwdriver through the PTO shaft's tractor end universal to get the leverage to get it to rotate a bit. The rotary cutter turns easy enough that I don't need extra leverage to move it.

It still is locked. I even tried turning tractor on & PTO on, turning tractor off leaving the PTO button on, but that didn't work either. I'll go by tractor supply after I take one of my Border collie hooligans to the vets and get the over running clutch and if that doesn't work will make Nunyabinis's wrench. That's a neat idea. Thanks guys. Mary
