I used to eat fried corn meal mush with butter and honey at my grandparents house. I liked it but haven’t had any in many years. I need to make some.I remember my grandma canning chickens. She also made pressed chicken with gelatin. It wasn't too bad in a sandwich. I remember when I was about 12 years old she asked me to help butcher a couple of chickens and she handed me an axe that I used while she held the chicken. She had a couple of nails in a stump spaced to hold the chicken's head while I removed it with the axe.
Another item we ate quite a bit of 60 years ago was cornmeal mush. I got kind of tired of that after a while.
