I like Brake Cleaner then Rem Oil. I haven't heard of some of the others mentioned here, so I'll keep my eye open for them and give them a try.

When I was a kid back in the 40's, we lived in an old farmhouse in rural Missouri. My brother and I slept in an upstairs room, right next to a vent in the floor that was directly over the kitchen. I'll never forget waking up early on a Saturday morning in the Winter to the muffled voices of Mom and Dad in the kitchen and the smell of fresh coffee brewing and breakfast on the stove.

If you like hoppe's try ballistol, Good stuff!!

It took me a while to get used to Ballistol, at first the smell would almost take my breath, now I love it!

It's pretty amazing how smells can trigger clear distinct memories. Even if your just reading about them.

Whenever I am using Hoppes, my wife asks if I have been in the workshop eating bananas.... I never thought it smelled like bananas myself. Do like the smell though.

When in the Army...the smell of Diesel, Coffee, Eggs, Sausage and Coal smoke from the stoves in the air at daybreak....so the morning smells on an Army base just before dawn...nothing like it...especially in the winter months..
