Is there some secrete to installing the Tiny Tach?

I have installed, then removed, then reinstalled this thing all day and I get NOTHING!!!!!

I have done everything the way the instructions say. Made sure the transducer is lined up correctly, the ground wire is attached to the bolt holding the airfilter bracket right on top of the engine. I have the power wires attached to a 9 volt battery since the "spare" power lead that other people have on their BX's is not on mine.

The injector line is scraped down to bare metel and I don't want to sand it any more for fear of ruining it.

HELP!!!! What else can I do!!! I am ready to send it back and look for something else! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

You might want to check to ensure that you have a good ENGINE ground. I've heard that simply grounding to the chassis does not always work. Run the white ground lead directly to a ground connection somewhere on the engine block.

Update ...
Tiny Tach problem solved. The problem was the 9 volt battery. Apparently it does not have enough power to power the display when the tractor is running. I check the ground, the transducer and everything was good. So I just hooked the wires to the battery and it worked!

I wonder why the company says a 9 volt will work when it appears it does not have enough juice to do the job ... and I did have a new 9 volt.

I was using the 9 volt to make sure everything worked before attaching the power wires permanetly, but I guess you should always attach the Tiny Tach to the tractor's power source.
