Is there something wrong with my septic tank?

This dead grass is the exact outline of the tank. It has been a bit dry and there's only 6" or so of dirt above the tank but we've had worse dry spells and never seen this.

That's normal heat from the tank is drying out the dirt as there's very little cover over the tank. Another words your tank is working.

Yep, and if you didn't know exactly where it was before you sure do now!

I found the opposite to be true regarding my French Field... always green during times of drought.

Same here, mine looks the same when it is dry.

Thanks all. 1st I've seen that happen. Guess I need to water. Maybe we'll get rain again someday. Seemed like it would never stop in spring.
