Price Check Is this a fair price?

   / Is this a fair price? #11
We can get all the pricing deals to dealers for cars. The shipping price is pretty much set and they for the most part charge the actual cost. The kick backs we can find out on the internet as well.
They are pretty much exposed.
However when it comes to tractors we know nothing.
Now if the automobile people can get set prices with all the variables like steel and such I don't beleive that the Kobuta, John Deere, Massey or any of the others can't.
And believe it or not some car dealers are even up front about what they pay. There're in it for a profit and they deserve a profit. We just like to know when we're being taken advantage (ripped off) of. If the car dealers can do it so can the tractor dealers!!!!!!!!
Just venting again .

NNY is the area I'm in and I believe the sb is front mount (priced so many I am not 100 per cent, it seems like that added to the value by being front mount). Both attachments are Kubota. Everything seems to be more expensive in NNY and the Sales Tax is going up to 8.25 % on 9/1 just before we get our school taxes!!!! (And here I go spending money!!)

Wow! According to the web site for pricing, the price I was quoted for the B7800 w/ fel and sb was a steal. It was under 20,000.00. Maybe I need to look at that model as well......I can hardly wait for Saturday now. It must be genetic, love to dig in the dirt and I can sure get wound over getting a tractor. DH thinks I'm weird, mind you he doesn't mind the work I get done..... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"The kick backs we can find out on the internet as well.

---------------------------
this is highly inaccurate.. For instance, a particular car dealer north of Hartford CT, is and continues to be "offered" a kickback from the mfg,, the motive being to sell more than two cars a month... Once, in his 55 years of business did he ever see a kickback,, that was because while he was gone that month on vacation, they purposely pushed cars out just to receive that and prove a point,, At this same dealership I've stood there watching as it can almost come to "blows" when customers come in armed with internet information,, and argue, I'll pay XX because you recieve this in the background.. This isn't always true and definately not at this place,,, People don't want to hear it or believe it.. In the meantime, we know that the mfg will be shutting this guy down before the end of this year,, He was offered pick ups earlier and turned them down, offered other car lines by the same mfg and turned them down.. So, the mfg sees him as old hat and a single line dealer and it caused him to hang himself.. Over the years while he turned down these various offers, other dealers took them, so he doesn't have any available now to save himself.. The internet can be helpful in many ways.. Doesn't mean it is always accurate and it does mean it causes serious problems at times, I watched it happen in front of me,..

It is this particular dealers attitude about getting his high price that has caused his demise, not the manufacturer. The same will happen to the tractor dealers when the manufacturers wake up and realize that it is they that must push the dealers into either learning that they can't sell for over list price. Once these stubborn dealerships are gone and new dealerships are established in the market place will tractor sales stop going to other dealers that are far away, but know how to market to the consumer in this environment. It doesn't do the manufacturer any good to have a dealer that isn't selling many tractors, but is causing ill will for the brand.

Very true Junk.. My point is, the dealer refused all his life, to go along with any program.. Refused to understand that people get basic and actually accurate up to date information from net use.. It is his total refusal to accept anything new, that caused his demise..Which will be end of this October.. The tractor dealers in our neighborhood aren't that much different than this particular dealer I mentioned.. (I say not all of them as a couple are starting to change, at least a little) They ask and demand list plus, I don't feel for them, I don't care if they make it or not, and probably would be ecstatic to see a few certain ones go belly up.. THIS, is why most sales here are from out of area or district... Someday, the rest will catch up and the few who do, will dominate the whole scene while those that dominate at this moment, are on the way out..

This is an accurate statement and has been reported by Consumer Reports and other publications with good reputations as well as on the net. Just because a dealer does not take advantage does not make it an inaccurate statement.
Now where are the wholesale prices that I asked MESSICKFARMEQU to lay on us???

Pual:

That's a nice website. Problem is, it won't reach the horsepower requirements I need.
