SCAMM!!After posting want ad this is what I received

Hello,

We are newly wedded couples giving away this cute puppy puppy for adoption to caring and loving families who truly deserve our baby as their family member. The baby is registered and health guaranteed. Contact us for more information on how to go about adoption.

Regards

,I asked for a phone number and they replied!

Thanks for responding to my email. Here is a little about us, We are deaf couples that have been married for 2 years without having children of our own, we have just moved to a new apartment here in Indiana and will like to have Teddy go to a caring and loving home that was the more reason i will like to know about you and your family to see if really Teddy will be taking care of the way we have been to him too. Teddy's adoption and shipping fee is $400 and he will be 12 weeks old by tomorrow and also the main reason we are giving out our beautiful baby is that we are not allowed to have pets that was why we have decided to give Teddy out for adoption to Caring Family that can take proper care of him. We are good Christians and we would never take advantage of you like other people who pay for pets and never receive what they paid for. Please be rest assured that with us you have to put your fears away and a trial will convince you where you will also give a living testimony.
Get back to us asap.

Thank you and Remain Blessed
Keonna & Dale Pippins

I told them I would come look at the dog next week this is there reply

, i really do not think we can wait for next week as we are giving a final date which happens to be on Saturday to get our baby out of our new home or get packing. That was why we included shipping

Have him send a postal money order. MikeD74T

I have not seen a counterfeit postal money order yet but I am sure the scammers are capable of printing them. If you get one and cash it at the post office and it is no good, I think the FBI will come looking for YOU.

Yes, I frequently try to bait the scammers and usually exchange a few emails, but have never been sent a cashier's check :(
I have wanted to see what a fake check looks like. Perhaps I am not convincing enough. I figure at least I can waste a bit of their resources and effort.

Here are some for you to see: Most of the security features are near perfect, such as the graduated background, the articicial watermark, and the microprint borderlines.

They looked so good that I thought about sending one of them to the scammers who were looking for money.:D

I agree and rather than take it to your bank to deposit it... take it to the POST OFFICE and let them cash it. Oh, is it (genuinely) $15,000 and you don't want to have cash in your pocket? then I'd say take it to the post office, let them 'cash' it and issue you another one that you KNOW is real and pay the $15.00.

Reason I say that is, I've been told that they are now trying to forge post office checks. I figure if the post office cashes it then that's their problem... SHOULD be easier to catch it there since they issued it rather than wait for it to go through your bank.

I HAVE taken some to the P.O. to cash but they were for nomimal amounts (under 1,000)

I have found this info on counterfeit USPS money orders. FDIC: SA-23-2005: Counterfeit U.S. Postal Money Orders

Also, from what I have found out, they treat counterfeit USPS money orders like counterfeit money. They go after the last known person to pass it for restitution and prosecution. So it doesn't matter where you cash it, they have your info and will come after you.

If I received the money order I'd immediately notify the FBI. Maybe they'd get involved, maybe not, but they could determine if it was valid. MikeD74T
