Is This Overkill?

I probably would not put chains on the front. You need wheel-slip when turning in 4wd, so chains on all 4 adds more stress to your drivetrain. Should certianly get you through the snow tho. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would think that front chains might be addressed on an individual basis. Some New Holland tractors are equipped with a Sensitrak clutch which as I understand it automatically engages or disengages the 4-wheel drive to allow the wheels to slip in a turn so that the drivetrain is not on a bind. It also saves your turf in the summer months. Other brands of green and orange may have this feature as well.
