hobbyfarm; That thing only looks bad. According to the specs my F-250 Stroker has more trailer capacity than it! It does look bad though! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

Hey John,
Yeah, but you got to admit that it'd look cooler than your F-250 pulling your tractor around. F-250's are a dime-a-dozen.

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

I never thought that the $50k Hummer would ever take off as it was quite a bit more than a loaded Suburban or an Excursion. But, down here there seems to be almost as many as Toyota Corolla's. They are everywhere.

I'd like to see International make a good splash with this.
They need one!

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

IHC does build a good truck, and I wouldn't mind a turnedup 466 or 530 even in a pickumup. But, I could almost buy 2 250 or 350 Fords for what they want for the behemoth. It would be great fun to chase an SUV or Hummer around with that though! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

What's amazing to me is that the trailer hitch is a option, not standard.

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

Dude,
The whole point of any of these trucks is image . Do any of those Hummers ever get into real mud? I don't think I've ever seen a dirty one. I got a feeling that the owners think that that would be disrespectful of the Hummer.
I agree with you that more than one truck would be better than throwing all your kids college fund into one vehicle.

This is kind of like:
I think I'll buy another tractor so I don't have to keep removing the backhoe and loader. Since I'm going to mow with it, I might as well get it with the turf tires while I'm at it.
(who has this much $ to burn?) I haven't won the Lotto yet!

Ther was a farmer close by who so many John Deeres, he almost did not have to change implements. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

BTW - How's the weather up there in Mich.?
I've got to cut my grass, but I'm just waiting for the 92 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif degrees to cool off some.

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

hobbyfarm; 92 out? That's just downright paganistic rubbing it in. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Right now it's 55 and cloudy and still a tad on the breezy side. All in all, it's a typical November day. I've lived here all my life except when I was in the service, and can't even think of leaving Michigan, I'm even moving 250 miles further north in a couple years. Just about can't wait. BTW, you do realize that here Nov 15th is a state holiday and we only have 2 seasons, construction and winter! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, and another BTW, are the commercials right when they say Texas is like a whole different country? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John,
You have no idea. I live about 70 miles up the Rio Grande River from the tip of Texas, and about 10 north of Mexico! (Don't even think about leaving your car, truck, or tractor where the crooks can take it, I've already had a van stolen from my driveway!)
We drive to Austin, and that gets pretty strange just that far north. Even that seems like another country.

We do need a cold snap to make the citrus taste better. We've got about 90 citrus trees between me and my neighbor. We're supposed to get a "cold front" tomorrow. Highs of 70 or so.

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

Know what ya mean about theft. My Dad had a F350 Stroker stolen at the K/Mart in El Paso. Had to leave his 5th wheel house trailer there until he could get another truck! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Yup.

As for the International, saw two red ones the other day on 635 heading east from DFW.

I was heading west bound and staring at them. And both drivers returned the stares. They were looking at Lucy to see if I was looking at them.

And you wondered why I always name trucks girls names.

I saw one of these trucks at an IHC dealer up in Saginaw. I kinda liked it really. Ofcourse it was a RED one! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

There was a CXT on display at the International Engine plant here. Here are some shots of it.

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

This article states the price range.
Please sit down first.

Monster truck goes to market

It also states that IH only expects to sell about 60 or so.
I think they just need to expose this to the world so they can go "Wow!, Can I have one?"
It looks like it would be the ultimate to tow those huge 5th wheel RV's that are so popular.

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

They are purty.

Of course if I got one I'd have to have the frame stretched for a thirteen foot custom welding bed.

Anything can be a pickup. Minicooper used to make one. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Is This the Ultimate \"Pickup\"?

I read that the pickup bed was derived from a Ford F-350. Way too small in my opinion. It should be at least large enough to haul a Ford F-350. [or at the very least a Crown Victoria]
