Is this tree big or what?

Vickie and I were at Charleston SC this past weekend and while there we saw the Angel Oak. I thought it was pretty neat, a live oak the was 1400 years old. I don't remember the specifics, but it was only 65' or so tall but very wide at the drip line .I believe the diameter was something like 11'. There were post holding the limbs up. some of them were 4' thick . Since it was an Angel and my last name is Angell I figured I needed to see it. Later, Nat Here is a link to it

We only have few older trees on our property but the following picture is trunk of a wonderful tulip poplar. My spouse is a reference to this tree. She is 6'9" and 230lbs.....

Here is a picture of my grandson (also 6'9" and 230 lbs) at the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. It is very difficult to take a picture of these trees. But you know how insignificant you are when you're in their presence.

That tree is about 40 minutes from my ranch. The entrance to Sequoia National Park is 12 miles from it. It would blow your mind to see all those giant redwoods up there. Truly magnificent.

You can even drive your car through one of them or even better, park your car on one redwood that is lying down. Been there done that and had a wonderful time with the wife and kids. Kings Canyon, Sequoia and Yosemite NP's are three places that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.

Rob, Your lucky to live in such beutiful country with such large tree's. It's just ashame how many of those giants have been choped down over the centuries for the profit of man. Takes mother nature over 2,000 years to make a tree like that and only takes man a couple of minutes to make it disapear.
