Yeah, location makes a huge difference. It's kind of like when I owned a Fiat sports car when I was a kid...lots of parts available, but none where I lived.

I was wrong on the model # of the JD I mentioned before too. It's a 420, not a 455...I've read so many ads that I'm getting confused. I think I'll go see it on the weekend.

I'm definitely trying to find a tractor and loader together too. I've never been big on shopping, and this is no different. Getting it all in one package makes things easier.

If the hours are low on the 455 (500 or so), that is an awesome price.
Just the tractor and a deck on a low hour 455 will bring $6k easy (US $ ). And even 1000 hours isn't high for that diesel.
It is an investment that will hold its value too.

Not trying to sway your decision, as the basement needs to get done. Just so you have a feeling for what is out there.

Edit: I see your correction on the 455, now a 420. They are good and sound, but not the deal that it would be if a 455. I looked hard and long for a low hour 455. Finally found one and drove a long way to pick it up. But was worth it.
