Got two acres I need to keep up with. Anyone know if the Yanmar 1100 or 1300 can handle a shedder well or a box blade. Maybe an augler?

A neighbor down the road has a 1300 and a 3' or 40" / 44" rotary mower with it. He mows about 3 ac once every 2 months.

I think it's a 3' mower.. can't say for sure.. but that should also be fine with a 4' finish mower if you are looking at keeping it all as lawn.

A small auger should be ok on HP.. but I'm not sure you will get the lift clearance you need. Keep in mind that they make handheld augers with little 3+ hp gas engines.. your diesel is fine. again.. not sure you have the lift arm clearance for it though.

I havn't seen smaller than a 4' box.. though the KK XB line may have a 40 / 44" one. Should be ok if you can keep the tires from spinning. 4' angle blad would also be fine.

Think of it as esentially the same size as a riding lawnmower.. but with bigger nads...

If you had mor ethan 2 ac.. I'd go bigger.. say 1400/1500.. but the 1300 should do fine.

1301D, 1401D or 1510D are nice.

Looking through old forums, saw this on a Yanmar 1300 which is what I have. Dad told me to get a 5 foot finish mower, have the chance to buy a real nice 4 foot, with minimal use. Would a 5 foot be okay for this size tractor? 16HP Yanmar 2WD.

I am using a 5' finish mower on my 1510. I haven't had any problems but your tractor is slightly smaller than mine.

Go for the 4 foot. 5 is a little too heavy for a 1300. Not to mention that it is 2 feet wider than the tractor.

I'm using a 5' on my tractor with no problems, but the turbo is adding some power. I'm currently mowing the neighborhood park with it. The park is around 2 acres and it takes me 1.5 hours. Less in the fall when there is less growth. That said, I wouldn't want to use a manual shift tractor to mow with. Every time you push the clutch in you'll loose the pto and I find myself shifting pretty often.

I have found that with a overrun clutch on the pto you don't lose very much when shifting. The momentum of the mower blades keeps the blades moving. I have a manual shift and primarily use the tractor for mowing.

Thanks for all the great info. Bought a 4 foot finish mower off of ebay for 615.00. Have the receipt showing original purchase of 1250. Extremely Satisfied, paint not even scuffed. Mower advertised as only being used for 2 hours which I believe based on the condition. Here's a pic
