Is your tractor a tool or toy?

/ Is your tractor a tool or toy? #41
I seem to be getting into this late but it is a subject that has been discussed in our house a few times.

Just because you enjoy using something does not automaticly make it a toy. Our 4310 has allowed us to accomplish a lot around here. I've put over 300 hours on it in the first year and have enjoyed it very much but this place looks totally different than when we started. Anything that allows you to do that much work is a tool, even if you have fun doing it. In fact that makes it a really good tool.

I have a 1962 Corvette. That is a toy. It serves no real useful purpose other than to provide fun.

In the final analysis, I must admit that I enjoy the tool just as much as the toy. Does that seem wierd to any of you? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's so weird, I understand it completely and I belong in that club. Let's hear it for the Weird Club! John

Hey GUY's This is really weird, Since I've been reading this forum it seems that some of the guys that have tractors also have another toy that doesn't seem to get much mention, maybe because this is a tractor forum?
But I would be interested in knowing how many of us have other toys in their garages that we play with on nice sunny days... bigblocks 62 vett, gerardc 88 vett, bubbajr, junkman etc.
Mopowers others I'm sure ...we could have a virtual car show
haah!!
I'm thinking it must be a natural progression from muscle cars to tractors ,,Just liking mechanical things I guess.. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Yeah, I know. I'm usually in the garage this time of year giving my Vette it's spring cleaning. So far nothing. My Kioti is getting all of the attention now. Guess I'll just have to park the Vette on the lawn and have a $35,000 lawn ornament! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You've got to love that! Understandable and maybe even predictable. In fact, I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel. Middle meaning the shower is currently some pipes and a hole in the floor. But, the weather has been in the mid seventies until today and I have been dying to get outside and shake some of this cabin fever. My wife knows that and maybe I am just being optimistic but I think it is also the reason she has been holding off okaying a tractor purchase. She thinks (and rightly so) that if a nice shiny tractor is unloaded in front of the house there is no way she is going to get a shower until next winter. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My tractor will be both a workhorse and a toy for running around the woods in.
Some people collect cars. Other's collect other types of toys. Here is one of mine.

LOL!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ...the shower is currently some pipes and a hole in the floor.
What I did was to make the outside a mess so I could get the approval (or should I say justification approval) for my CK20. If you hurry up and try get that shower done, leaving the mess outside, you may get quicker approval (justification) from the Mrs. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thanks for a great laugh!
