Hey Chilly,
Good to hear from you. If there's a second meaning, I'm not seeing it.

My wife really likes the song and so do I. I had been asking about the tractor for a while and the answer was always that we can't afford it. When she finally said yes, I had asked about a Deere I found and told her that if we got it then I could take her for a ride on our big green tractor...etc. That time she said yes. Now, every time she comes to the ranch and sees the tractor she comments that I haven't taken her for a ride on it yet.

I'm in the boat with those of you wonder if there's really any physical attraction involved or just manipulation when DW comments how sexy it is when I wash dishes, sweep the floor, change a diaper, etc. My wife has never specifically commented about the sex appeal of my tractor, but she has commented about how she likes it when I come in smelling like diesel, cut grass, or welding fumes. I think it's not because she likes the smell, but because she likes knowing that I actually did something for a change.

I'm going to join Chilly as an amateur psychologist and analyze the motivational forces behind the sex appeal of a tractor. A tractor fits into the same category as a high dollar sports car. It's well known that women are attracted to weath, power, and security the same way men are attracted to well turned legs, a tight caboose, and 36C's. In typical Americana a tractor represents a large, high dollar, high power machine. The tractor has added appeal because it represents the farm, the crop, and the lifestyle. Farming is typically seen in pop culture as a successful, secure, romantic profession regardless of the sometimes harsh reality.

I'm no great landowner, but I'm happy to preserve the illusion if I can keep the legs, caboose and C's.

Most of the guys with tractors I know - their wives just complain about how much the tractors cost. They don't seem to be finding them very romantic.

This takes my thoughts back to one of the very early posts in this thread, where the poster advised the OP to "not take his eyes off her"...

I'd agree with that sentiment, mine is a good natured country girl too. Sometimes I wonder what she sees in me, I suspect it's more mutual than we realize.

So, for the rest of you that have tractor-critical wives, there's no way to sugar coat it.. "Y'all done married the wrong wimmen..."

You are so very right Chilly, they done picked the wrong wimmins...lol. Pick your women carefully, they will be around a very long time.

I have a neighbor that has an older than he but very good looking wife. He has a farm pro tractor with "she thinks my tractors sexy" with stick-on letters across the top of the grill. I think it was his wifes doings, having only been married 3 yrs, still young into the relationship. They joke about his sexy tractor at times.

I have 2 tractors and thought it would be neat on my Yanmar 2200 to put "she thinks my tractors sexy" across the top of the grill, but in Japanese letters. Everything else on the tractor is written in Japanese except the Yanmar name, so why wouldn't that be fitting?

Can anyone send me that saying written in Japanese? I can paint it on with a very delicate small paint brush. Not visible way off but a smaller feature when standing close.

I already named it the "Rice Paddy Special". It has a round 2200 badges on the sides of the hood. I took a Dymo Letra Tag label machine with silver tape and made Rice Paddy Special emblems and it really surprised me how well they matched the 2200 badge. I've had several people tell me they thought they came on it and was really the correct name from Yanmar. I think I will stop telling them I made them and just let them assume it was factory emblems.
