I had a good laugh when I installed my driveshaft. It works great and is well balanced. Very smooth, very heavy duty, in fact too heavy duty! When I got over to the shop and started assessment for the front wheel driveshaft (which was also twisted off), I realized the 1310 universal is large enough to interfere with the lower drive unit. All it means is a bit more work to extend the lower shaft to clear the upper joint, but for anyone facing the same challenge, you need to go down a size. The 1310 is just big enough to interfere with the lower joint. A 1000 series is rated a bit light, but may work just fine. Another possibility is a donor driveshaft from a small Toyota truck or something with less bulk. At least the concept is sound and we know it works! This is starting to look like FrankenIseki, but it's a good old tractor.

hello

are the tu 1700/landhope 170 the same as the tu 20 when it come to the driveshaft? if so do you have a list of part numbers that you used? i own a machine shop and can perform the operations but it would be helpful to have the list of parts used. thanks in advance for your time and consideration. Great work on the shafts by the way.

Hi Brad,

Sorry I haven't answered, as I have not been on the site for months. Just popped on tonight for fun. The yolks I used are standard, off the shelf - but I can't find the invoice at the moment. I purchased them from Pat's drive line in Vancouver, BC. They are very common, I know that. I think anything would work, but if you want to retain the 4 wheel, you have to find some fairly small yolks. Iseki didn't leave a lot of room there.

The yolks are holding up well. I have worked that poor tractor to death, but it keeps going in spite of my relentless disregard for the limitations of the unit. Iseki makes a decent tractor, no doubt about it.

thanks for the reply, i too don't get on here much but much appreciate the feed back. I have had the yokes at a driveline shop for a while but he can not find the right stuff, so i am faced with the same dilemma as you were. it is not that big of a deal but i guess i am just lazy.. thanks again

Brad
