It seams odd that some dealers can't see things like that until the customer points it out.

After a few years of dealer maintenance on wifey's LeSabre, the drivers side tires had all the chrome lug-nut caps on. But the passenger side had 7 of them missing.

My dealer walks around the vehicle taking video of it when you pull in. Protects me and them from stuff like this. Zero issues using the dealer for maintenance on my Colorado Z71 and they have a lifetime warranty on the drivetrain if you service it there.

Bought a new truck in 2001, picked up in the evening, dealer took pictures of us with the truck under a lighted area, next day noticed the black plastic on the front bumper corner was scuffed up and hidden with black dye , when I went back they immediately said I must of damaged it, then I pulled out the photo which perfectly showed the damage in the lighting they used…. They ordered and replaced the whole plastic cover

Just a follow up, we got the car back from the body shop yesterday. I was pleased with the results.

The recall was for the side airbags, otherwise I wouldn’t let them touch. Of course you know how these recall letters read, if you don’t get it done all the baby seals in the world will die.
So true. I have a stack of them for an airbag recall. Really funny, they tried everything, including letters in girls handwriting, letters aimed at my wife (thinking she will nag me into getting it done), envelopes that look like tax refunds, you name it.

I'm not letting them do it because I don't want my dash torn apart and don't generally trust dealers any farther than I can throw them (yes, even Toyota dealers).

Looks good. Did they re-paint the whole door?

We have required yearly inspection, here in PA. So I just tuck any recall notices in the glove box, to be addressed next time it’s in for safety inspection.

@Runner they did repaint the entire door. My wife kept saying it didn’t match and I just couldn’t see it. Finally she said it’s not the color but the texture. I finally held a led trouble light up to the repainted door and then the old door in back. The reflection in the painted door was crisper then the old door in back. In other words the repainted door has a better shine. When I wax the car next time I’ll buff the entire car, it pretty much undetectable now so it’s going to be fine.

I’ve had several of the airbag recalls done on different vehicles, so far no issues.

They probably already told you this, but you’re going to want to wait at least 3 months to do any wax or polish on that new paint, probably longer in cold winter weather.
