/ IT has SPRUNG #21
The average last day for a freeze in my area of NC is April 15th which is not that far away.

I need to clean out the garden but today's chores will be moving logs for firewood, rearranging how we store and process firewood, and maybe sawing the logs up into rounds ready for splitting. The high temp today be close to 70 but the humidity will be less than 20% and the winds are kicking up today as well so no burning today.

But it might be time to start some seeds in the house over the next week or two.

Later,
Dan

Clemsonfor.......Of course it's still WINTER Bud.....Golly the STORM of 93 was on March 13 and we had 7 days of no roads and 13 with no power.......All I am trying to say is that this has been a pretty tough winter here, the signs are saying it is coming to a close, and for that I am thankful to God........lolol....not even ready to put out my maters but the taters are in the ground tomorrow or the next day.........God bless.....Dennis

I have a crazy feeling this may be the end of winter for us here in the south, except for a day or 2 of really cold. Last year we had 4'' of snow in march! I remember cause i had just built my woodshed in either late feb or early march and i got the snow on it. I did a cheap thing to save on wood of nailing boards togeather and had a small doubt in my mind of the strucktural strength, then i got the snow and was thinking this will be a test. It passed, plus i walk on it all the time so i know its fine.

I've seen signs that spring is close, the geese have started hanging around in pairs and yesterday I saw a flock of cranes go over and today saw two more bunches. I really like the cranes, I can hear them quite a while before I can see them. Sure makes me want to get into the garden.

Spring is close here too, it got above 20 degrees today, the snow piles in the yard have melted down to only 8 feet high, only had 5 inches to plow today, its been 2 weeks since the town wing plowed my mailbox over. I figure 6-8 more weeks ought to do it.
