John Deere 790

Got it this morning. Very nice service by the dealer. Within a week or so I shall return for the LX5 cutter and a rear blade. Also to be purchased are the seed spreader and 5.5 foot disk.

Towing this new toy was the mighty 1994 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 V-8. She performed perfectly and never even thought about over-heating.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Very nice rig. Congrats. From the posts you read here, the 790's seem to be overachievers, I'm sure you'll love it.

If you didn't get the loader - start saving your spare change. It is an extremely useful accessory to have around the place.

We'll look forward to the action shots! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Outstanding tractor...I think you'll find it to be very much worth the money.

Now that you're not shopping, you need to update your profile.

Congratulations, you made a good choice. I've had my 790 since
2001, Other then fuel, grease, oil, filters an one leaky
battery, I haven't done anything to the little tractor...

There are a lot of other tractors Deere make with more bells
an whistles but non that give you as much bang for the buck.

Good luck an happy tractoring...

Now that's a fine looking, level-hooded machine; a REAL tractor. It looks like you may have to widen the door to the shed to tuck 'er in at night. Good luck and congratulations!

Hey, that looks familiar, just cleaner than mine! Great looking tractor John. I see you've got the adjustable rear wheels. Did you specify those or is that how it came? Also, your rear tires look bigger than mine, I've got 12.4X16s on one piece rims.

Have fun and keep the pictures coming /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmmm...I didn't specify. I just said I wanted R-1 tires and that's what they gave me. Just standard R-1 Ag. tires is what they said I was getting.

I didn't specify either, other than the R1s. Here's a shot of mine, you can see the rim difference and my tires have more clearance to the fenders than yours.

Even your fronts look bigger than mine. If you have a chance, let us know what sizes you have /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The deere website show 11.2x24 with 7-14 fronts

Dont know what happened there Rob
I later found that there was an optional tire wheel combo for my 970 but still used r-1s
this is the parts page for the 790 wheels, etc.
