Make sure you check all the loaders that fit each tractor. Some tractors can have more than one loader installed on them. The 5000 series from Deere can have either the 553 or the H260 loaders. The H260 loader has WAY more capacity.

Impressive loaders. The list price on the Deere website for the 5000E series is in the grand l Kubota ballpark. Price may not matter over the long haul but I like to know apples to apples on the specs that are important to me what the price differences will be. The Deere 5000E series has impressive numbers.

I thought JD was made in Georgia. Reading online brochures now. They have more lift capacity over Kubota on comparable models.

It's pretty hard to keep track of what gets made where, but many of the Deere CUTs are only assembled here, with parts made overseas. How much assembly is done here seems to be the question that always comes up. In some instances (various brands), all they do is add the wheels/tires, and loaders, and that counts as "assembled in the U.S.".

Kubota tends to go light on lift capacity for the FELs compared with other brands, but their tractors also tend to weigh less for similar size/HP, so that's probably a safer combination. I think Deere does a better job of matching lift capacity to size, but that's just my opinion.

Right now, Kioti, and LS offer more lift capacity for the same size/HP tractor than pretty much anybody but Mahindra, and at a lower price. For example, Deere 4000 series (4320, etc) models lift around 2,300lbs max to full height (at the pins), and an LS or Kioti of the same HP will lift over 2,600lbs (LS incorrectly states 2,500 on their website). That's not huge, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

There is no perfect....sadly. I tried to find a 40-50hp 4WD CUT that was actually made (or mostly made) in the U.S. that was even remotely in the ballpark price of the LS or Kioti tractors, and failed.

LS? Curve ball. Never heard of that one. I just looked them up. Nice looking machine. I would like a min of 2500lbs at the pins.

I believe that currently LS and Kioti are the best bang for your buck with LS being a little ahead. Both are good machines and should not be over looked.

Dan, if you are going to consider other makes, then you should do yourself a favor and look at every single make that you can, within your comfortable driving distance. They pretty much are all good machines. They all vary just a bit with what each unit has as std equipment and options. Placement of controls vary some. Some have options that are not even available with others. A lot of little things that can make a difference with what you choose if you happen to know about the differences.

Again, don't be in a rush, check everything out and have fun. ;)

I'm extremely happy with mine, but I'll openly admit I nearly went with Kioti.

Right now, LS also makes the New Holland Boomer 30, 40, 50, and Case/IH Farmall 35B, 40B, and 50B....they are the same machines as the LS R3039, R4041, and R4047.

There's a Kioto dealer on my way to my place in Livingston and I am stopping by today to look at DK45SEHST. Looks comparable to the models I have been interested in. I like the lift capacity if it's accurate on the 401 loader. I like having a Kubota dealer 8 miles from my place. There's an LS dealer on my way and a New Holland in Livingston. Don't know a thing about those. I tractoring after lunch today!

All reports have it that the 401 is a powerful loader, one of the most powerful in it's class. My dealer insisted I load the rear tires unless I put the BH on it. I am taking delivery without a BH and the rear blade only weighs a few hundred pounds... so I had them load the tires. I don't take delivery until the end of next week, so I don't have any first hand experience to report... yet. Have fun shopping.. unless you are totally confused at this point. :)

Hey Dan,

I have the 401 fel on my DK40 and it is amazing. Specs say around 2,700 lbs. I believe. Gotta watch the loader bolts (9 on each side) for a while, they like to move a bit til they settle in.

Long day and learned tons. I would probably by a Kioti if there was a local dealer. I am committed to the idea of servicability of the tractor and where I am Kubota is 8 miles up the road. I am buying the Kubota. I cut and pasted here. Its 38,000 plus tax with attachments. Hog, Forks, Trash forks, Fertilizer, Auger, box and rake. I'm adding a 3rd valve and armstrong grapple.
