You cant get out in case of a fire or other emergency if the key isn't in the inner cylinder and the deadbolt is locked.

a nanny cam and/or webcam on a hidden computer. an old laptop is all thats required. store the images to the hardrive or better yet upload them offsite.

You ain't kidding!!! And my hog sausage. I may not have noticed it sooner but they dropped 2 of them, one in the garage, another outside. Camera got some dogs handing around later, I found out why!!

In my city... a 20 something with 4 kids went out on a drug binge and would lock the front and back door double cylinder deadbolts to "Keep the kids safe"... the oldest was 7 and the youngest 13 months...

The unthinkable happened... the power was turned off and the family had been using candles and a fire happened when the kids were home alone and locked in... all the kids were found against the front door dead... they couldn't get out.

After that, the city made inspection a priority... if you own residential rental property or ever call the fire department the locks and smoke detectors are checked...

I was drinking coffee the other morning at a local coffee shop with one of our deputies and he was telling me that residental burglaries are on the rise in my area. I keep thinking we need to lock everything up better.

My stepson just told me a couple days ago that his fathers house was broken into recently. This happened in a decent middle class suburban neighborhood sometime in the middle of the day while he and his wife were at work. They split the wood around the dead bolt on the front door and got in that way.

Took some guns (didn't get all of them) a lap top and other things that I don't remember.

The person or persons who did this must have known something about them because they brought a bowl of dog food to keep the dog busy while they robbed the place. They left the bowl of dog food there.

This is the first time anything like this has happened to them.

I believe that with the rise in unemployment and increase number of people in financial trouble, residential burglaries and robbery are likely to be on the rise. If the State of California goes bankrupt and is no longer able to give out food stamps and welfare, then heaven help us.

You may be surprised what you can do with digital photos. I also have a game cam and some of the pics don't turn out very well. But once you use a photo enhancement program on the pictures the bad ones can turn out pretty good. My suggestion is to save your original pics, make a copy and adjust on the copies with photo enhancement software. I would be willing to bet that you may see a lot more detail and be amazed with what you can bring out. I adjust on the "gamma" a good bit.

A friend of mine came home early one day and was warming up by the heater and looking out of his front window and saw a man in his mid 30's and a teenager pushing a 4 wheeler. He walked out on the porch and asked if he could help them, that he had one like it. They said no and picked the pace up. he heard them try to start it and happened to walk to the back door and saw the shops walk in door was missing the handle. He ran to the shop and got his pickup and ran them down. Its getting bad around here, and whats really bad its the same ones that get caught doing it over and over again.
