I built the hitch tonight. I did not cut it short and it is not as tight as yours. I will give it a try soon and I can do a little welding if needed. I have a trailer with a very short tongue (not the one in the parade) so I like the long hitch.

I agree pushing a trailer with the PT is not a problem. It is easier place the trailer where you want it. I use my PT with my boat trailer to launch and retrieve my boat. This summer I removed and replace the siding on my house. I utilized scaffolding in my 6 X 10 utility trailer to do the job. I used my PT to precisely place the trailer next to my house. Utilizing the trailer was easier than disassembling and reassembling the scaffolding every 16 feet.

You must be observant when pushing a trailer with the PT but I prefer pushing to pulling.
