 if I choose to purchase a PT would I be able to operate my machine at their site before delivery 
The 1845 I drove in Tazewell was the one they shipped.

 The oil leak is under the motor and it looks like it may just be a loose oil filter. 

Turns out the oil leak was a loose clamp on the oil hose that runs from behind the oil filter to the engine oil cooler. It was a "challenge" to get to and tighten it up but it no longer leaks. However, I'll be keeping a close eye on it (and the oil level) in the near future to ensure it stays good. Before the next major useage I'm going to check every nut, bolt, and hydraulic connection as was suggested before.

 Although I have often critiqued Power Trac, and offered improvements, it is the most versatile, most useful, and most fun machine available! If you find a superior option, please share that info, because I don't know of anything that even comes close!!

With so many orange, blue, and green dealers with busy service departments, they all have many failures and problems that we never hear about!! And, if you painted them all white, you couldn't hardly tell one from another!!

I looked for almost a year at various options, both locally and on the internet, and I could not find as much utility or solidness with any other tractor and attachments without going to considerably more expense. I visited Power Trac to ensure myself they are a solid company that wants to do a good job for their customers. Since I've purchased the tractor their support has been good. Based on those experiences I continue to believe the PT425 is the most versatile and solid tractor in its horsepower bracket.

With my 5+ hours of usage, I've been impressed with the work that the PT425 will do. I've also been somewhat disappointed with the issues I've had with my new PT425, however in all fairness, they have been minor and relatively easy to remedy. That does not bother me too much as I've done mechanic work in a past life but it appears to me that with buying one of these tractors it would be wise to go over it and check all hydraulic and engine connections before doing much work with it.

My little oil leak was the same hose. Just 1.5 turns of the hose clamp screw and everything is okay.
