Re: it\'s a tight fit....

Looks very similar to my woods, well at least the woods that I'm thinning & planting grass in. I always carry a can of tree pruning goop in my toolbox for when I mow, but too lazy to remove my loader. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Re: it\'s a tight fit....

tctx- We essentially did the same thing. One of the first things we did when we bought the place is hire a guy with a track loader to clear some trails and bury some rotted lumber and trash. The trails through the woods are about 350 ft. long, and it only took him about 2 hours to clear a couple of nice winding trails out down to the water. Meanwhile, a guy was busy with a chainsaw along the lakefront clearing out the stuff along the shoreline. Our lake frontage is about 400 ft, and in 2 hours the chainsaw guy cleared out about 150 ft. Without doing this, you wouldn't even have known that there was a lake there until you got all the way down and peeked through the brush. That was probably the best $500 I've ever spent. Since then, we've put up a deck next to the water, boathouse, and parking area for our golf cart. Next step: electricity and some kind of lift system for the two PWC's I just acquired.

A wooded place on a nice lake in Texas can't be beat, IMHO!

Life is good.
