Re: It\'s Been Ordered

Thanks for the info Donald, it does answer my questions. I'm actually cutting with a craftsman rider right now that I believe will be do for replacement soon so if it can cut as good as that, or even a little better, I would be happy.

Thanks for the info.

Congratulations ! I'm sure that you'll get a lot of pleasure and use out of your machine . As to waiting for it to come in .....
All will be forgotten once you turn the key the first time !
And as has been suggested before , Get the manuals beforehand . It takes away from the wait ,and gets you up to speed before you run your new machine . And if You have the folding ROPS ,and a 7' tall door to your garage , always remember to fold it ! My " neighbor " told me to pass on that tip /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif John

Congratulations on the new machine. If you don't mind telling us, what dealer did you make your purchase from? From what little that has been written about the New Hampshire dealers, they all seem to be good, but I was wondering who gives the best deals..... thanks......

Great choice with the B7610 - mine has been a real workhorse - wish I'd had the budget for all your *toys*!

As far as mowing quality, I also replaced a Sears Craftsman 38" riding mower with my 7610 / 54" MMM - while the heavier weight (and the more aggresive R4 tires in the *soggy areas") has been an issue in a few corners (mostly in shady areas under trees) of the yard - the mow quality of the MMM is quite good in my opinion - equal if not superior to that of the Sears rider, IMHO.

I had to muck around with the MMM cutting height - started at 3" - went down to 2.5" - then to 2.0". 2 inches gave the best looking lawn - BUT I thought it was a bit too short - worried about burning the lawn - so I mow at 2.5" cutting height.

Biggest surprise? That a machine of this size doesnt leave "stripes" from grass flattened under the tires / rollers.

Check out my pics (signature at bottom) for ideas regarding MMM installation / removal.

Cheers,

Dan

Re: It\'s Been Ordered

Not to hijack this thread but,

Dan,

I looked at your picture of your mower deck suspended off your 7610's loader - where you mention doing this to touch up dings or sharpen the blades - the mower deck is facing back towards the tractor. You might want to consider what I saw at my dealer's when I picked up my tractor - a piece of steel angle to lay on top the cylinder of one of the loaders lift arms - to mechanically prevent it from closing if you are under it. Just a thought.

Re: It\'s Been Ordered

Congratulations. Just got my 7610 about three weeks ago. I really enjoy it and it is a pretty powerful little tractor. I think your price is good for New Hampshire. I am down in the southwest corner. Paid 14600 for a 7610 w 302 loader and 4ft brush hog. the backhoe would have been about another 5500 from Kubota and I don't have the toothbar, welded hooks( I definitely am getting these along with a box blade) and larger loader. You will enjoy this setup

Just checked my pics - I see what you are getting at - but no: I hang my MMM the "other way 'round" - so the blades are facing out - when I do sharpening etc..

I also use the 4' section of 8"x8" beam shown under my bucket - and stand it "on end" with the bucket raised - that's my "safety net". I like the idea of the angle-iron blocking the hydraulic cylinder, though - I'll keep that in mind.
