Its BOUND to happen ...

With my pick up I always back into my shed and make it so that I walk past the plug to get in my pick-up. Keep in mind I have only used the BH about a half dozen times. My wife scares me more than I do on this subject...:D

When I built my house I put an outlet directly infront of each parking spot and then put the outlets on a switch inside the house. The switch is to minimize power use and the location is an attempt to eliminate extension cords and also reduce damage if you forget to unplug.
Occasionally I see small extension cords on the side of the road in winter. I assume that they had connected a block heater to a home the night before.

In our never ending remodel on our house, I have made the electricians put an outlet on the exterior wall by all the doors. This was mainly for Christmas lights, but can use for heated animal water bowls and other things. The first one installed on the front porch I had done on a switch so I could kill the Christmas lights from the warmth of the house. Electrician was coming today to put in the last of this stuff... makes me wonder if I should have him go ahead and put the outlet on a switch again....

Hang your key next to the wall outlet.

This thread cracks me up because I've done it on numerous occasions. That and a number of other "forgettables".
The "reminder" methods are very helpful though.
So this is what I've done, and if not me, my wife too. We are both tards.

-Driven the tractor off with the solar charger still plugged in?
-Driven the ATV off with the solar charger still plugged in?
-Even driven the tractor off after taking the backhoe off the 3pt but forgetting to unhook the hydraulic PTO pump...snapping th hyd hoses.
-Other stuff like driving off and forgetting to turn the fuel "on".
-Driving off with the parking brake on?
-How about forgetting to raise the 3pt and grading your storage shed floor with the boxblade that was on it?

Maybe the answer for me is to lock the keys away so I can't get to them?

We used to do it on the fire trucks all the time. then someone got smart and put the plug in the step on the drivers side. you "have" to unplug it to step on the step. its only been broken twice since then. They do make an automatic outlet. when you crank the truck the plug "spits" out. I have never looked for the plug on my 2500 duramax, it was cold this morning,58, so I might have to look for it.:D :D

Just leave your wife a note asking her to go out and unplug it when she gets up to make your coffee.:D :D
