:When I was a young boy we used to visit my grandparents farm in Southern
IN about three times per year. One of the first things I would do is go sit on my uncles tractor. It was an Allis Chalmers 185. I dreamed about driving it for years. Over 40 years have passed and my day has come. In July I bought a 185 and my son helped me restore it. Here are some pictures

Looks great, outstanding restoration. Was it a complete rebuild or did it only need paint?

It was in fairly good shape. The rims were rusty from chloride, steering wheel cracked and weathered, lights didn't work, seat tore up, hydraulic leaks, fuel leaks, and fluids needed changing.
It stripped off all of the sheet metal, weights, wheels, etc and had them sand blasted. I primed and painted out in my drive way. I don't have any type of paint booth.

Nice. I grew up with ACs. Those are the REAL orange tractors. :)

Great job on that 185. I like those models of Allis. I have put lots of hours on a 180, several on a 220. Again great job and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words.
My 15 year old is learning a lot when we do projects together. On this one he learned how to remove dents, fix fuel leaks, pull a steering wheel, sand blast plus quite a bit more. I even let him spray some paint with a HVLP gun.

Never had any, but always loved the looks/style of the 185's and 190's. Sharp looking tractors...

Nice job..!!
