Nice tractor!

Cutting edge is whats welded across the front of the bucket. Since you have the HD bucket, it's drilled for a bolt on cutting edge, basicly two, one bolted to other. Double up and let the bolted on one take all the wear. It will use plow bolts from the bottom so it will be smotth on the bottom. If you grade with the bucket tilted too much it can be damaged if it catches something. Bucket cylinders could be damaged too.

FYI where I'm from any implement needs to be secured too. You can run a chain or strap thru the torque tube of the loader.

I am lost on how to use a bucket ( NEVER owned one ) . All my equipment is 2 hrs from home at cabin :( . So all I can do for now is play with loader . I get new Big Bee Soil Mover next week !! Then off for a week in April !!! So I get to try it out for real then !!! I have 2 jobs to do , at cabin , plus my own work . I have a HUGE boat dealership parking lot to grade , then a smaller driveway job . The driveway job , needs dirt to be picked up , put in hole ( wash ) then gravel on top . My Ford 3000 could not push dirt backwards enough , so my buddy has had a big hump in his drive ( pile of dirt with gravel over it ) . My plan is to save gravel , pick up dirt , put in hole , then put gravel over dirt ! He is also buying 2 loads of white rock to finish the project . So should be a great day to get use to loader and tractor ! HST is great in tight spots !!

Way to go goochy, well done!

You've got the right tractor for the job

Carl, to backdrag for smoothing of dirt, or light gravel, keep your bucket flat, and put your loader joystick, in the float mode, that is push you stick all the way foward, past the detent, it should stay there by itself. Move the tractor in reverse fairly rapidly . then pickup up the loader bucket and move foward, drop bucket in float again, and repeat. The result will be a smooth surface. Of course you have your landplane coming soon, so you will probably use that, but you can smooth out driveways etc with just a bucket by backdragging. it is also good for filling over holes you have made for instance if you have dug out a tree, or rock. You will learn how to dig trench's and peel up topsoil and things like that, they are kinda hard to describe how to do, but you will catch on thru trial and error.. it only took me a few years to get good with a bucket:laughing: so dont be discouraged. It is like anything else, you just have to practice the things you want to learn. If you cannot figure something out, you can call me if you like. Good Luck

I use the bucket in reverse with float mode for the last pass or two.

If there is a larger amount to move I use down pressure and a slight angle.

I agree with getting the replaceable edge on the bucket while it is still in new condition.

I might check into the new cutting edge , mine is like new , so I would hate to mess it up . I am going to use the angle blader more than anything . I was just wanting to play on it .

Goochy,
If you think about it having the replaceable blade bolted to the existing one in effect doubles the strength of the lower edge. This helps the bucket retain its flat or straight edge.
