Congrats on owning your tractor!!!!! I have always thought as some of you, that you can get a better deal with cash. However, the last several years my experience has been that all the incentives are toward financing. In other words, even with cash in hand it is more often a better deal to do financing. With cars I have found that they will give you much better deal when you finance with them (and then pay it off is a few months) then if you just pay cash to start with. I think they are trying to "hook" you into paying all the financing.

How can they hook you into paying all the financing when it's free?

Ibought a new F450 dump truck last year. Traded another one for it that had a not on it. Basically owed 26-27k on it. When I was buying the new one I bought a cab and chassis ( had my own body company put the dump on ) I paid for the body in cash, then put another 12k down on the new rruck so I financed about 15k total.. the Finance guy tried telling me Fords rates were going to be higher if I only financed 15k and not the whole thing.....I said what ? ...WTF are you talking about ? ... he continued to push financing the whole thing and the rate was going to be 1% less ...I said ...well...screw it..And screw Ford finance..I went to my local credit union and got a rate 2 points lower than anything they offered.

You know, I knew I would regret posting a feel good story. Always the Hater's out there, Or the I know more than you crowd. Or the it's too good to be true folks. Or the the man is out to get you group. Nobody can just ever go with the topic and let it be. Amazing how much everyone else on this forum or any forum for that matter knows more than you. It's not a CASH is KING topic, it's a I own my tractor free and clear topic. Why do people feel they have to comment on everything even when they have nothing useful to add? Keyboard Cowboy's I guess. Night all.

Have you ever went in a small town restaurant and sat down at the round table with the locals?

That's what TBN is.

Many times, I grew up in a town of 120

1 Grocery Store
2 Gas Stations, for some reason
1 Cafe
1 Pool Hall my Uncle owned
Post Office
Elementary School
American Legion

But that's about it, quite a lot for a small town though, Allen Kansas.

I agree sir. And it is not just winter time cabin fever.

There are good reasons to finance and it can be better than paying cash.

Congratulations on making the final payment and enjoying your tractor all those years. Wishing you many more!

Tractors or years?
Kubota offered 0% when we bought ours so we applied, they knocked us back as they said we had insufficient funds/capital/income so we paid cash instead, I have no idea where they get their information but it was clearly wrong and I was not about to divulge my sources of income to a rural dealer as within a matter of days everyone in the area would know my business.
Bought a new car and the dealer tried to push finance at us, we said we wanted to pay cash, they begged and pleaded fpor us to finance saying that we could then leave our money in the bank, right, earning 3% while they wanted to charge us 10% and a $1k application fee.

Nice feeling kcfl "Yes". I, too, took the 5 year 0% on the 2018 Kubota. I've got 4 more years to pay. But.....if I die first then I won't have to pay anymore. Right?
