ITS MY TURN..BROKEN BX AIR FILTER BRACKETT

Its happened to most ,now me.Doing maintanance today,noticed both ends snaped right off my air filter brackett.I welded them back on to get me by for now,im still under warrenty.I will get a replacement,why i dont know it will probably break too.Iprobably will have to fab a new one out of better steel.Kubota ought to step up to the plate and recall these,everyones eventially break.Reminds me of an old SKIDOO one lunger i had,couldnt keep an exhaust togeather on it,even after buying new...real irritating!!!

I'm on my third on BX22. Is the 23 them same 22?

I've notice, on mine, that the clamp was not properly secure on the filter, it seem better & tighter now.
Check the new one, make sure that it push the intake into the tractor compartment. (check where the battery is).
The intake should go into the hole, have a look, this may be the original problem.

My 2002 BX2200 has 1025 hours on it and has gone through 3 of those brackets for the air filter. My son engineered a replacement bracket using a 20" piece of heavy duty canvas fire hose and drilled a couple of holes for the bolts and it works fine so far. It flexes but is secure.
Will report on how it holds up.

I've welded mine twice, different places. The last time I also heated around the general area of each break ... kindof anealing it. So far so good ... maybe 200 hrs ago

When mine broke I just took the metal strap off and grabbed a couple of large black nylon zip ties, they worked so well I think they'll be permanant.

When my BX came in the spring, the two bolts holding the cleaner to the infamous bracket were missing. Wonder why? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif It was the noisy rattle that brought my attention to it.
