Fantastic! I was fortunate and pulled the plug 16 years ago when I was 55. It will take some getting used to at first but you will soon learn to love retirement. It means staying up all night & great afternoon naps any time you like. It means working so hard with your tractor and not worrying that tomorrow you have to go in to work - you're retired and can lay on the davenport and recoup.

Congratulations! You will quickly find that tractoring is much more fun than talking about it... also rather addictive. :D

I find that my workload still fills my daily and weekly scheldue. I still stay busy. The main difference is that I usually can allocate, when to do things. Congratulations. Have fun and do things that bring you enjoyment.

Congratulations, you have reached your goal! I highly recommend retirement :)

I had zero problems adjusting, but then we found the rural farms of my dreams and moved out here.

Congratulations on the retirement. I think you will find you will work harder once you retire but it won't be work because it's for yourself. But enjoy. Good luck.

I retired in 2000 when a company early retirement plan happened to coincide with a management effort to make my life difficult. I had some inherited land in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and built a retirement home near Staunton. I've never regretted it. The Valley is great. Lots of agriculture, but lots of places to eat, art to experience, concerts, music, museums and - importantly - tractors. I was persuaded to work part time locally for several years, but am finally settling down to the task of being retired.
