Tractor
JD 4210
Its been almost two weeks from when I placed my order for my new JD 4210 with FEL and BH. Went to the dealer on Thrusday and there they were all nice and shiny new. Just waiting on one little part to come in on Monday and than it will be ready. Have to wait until Wednesday to take it home and start having fun ( I mean work ). What can I do to make the time go by faster??? At least I have to work this weekend so that will help alittle.

Not that it will make the wait go any faster , But get the owners manual and read it through . It'll make getting aquainted with your pride and joy a bit easier .
Congratulations on your new tractor ! John

Nixon has the right idea, the usual thing we recommend for those long sleepless nights. I think that's better than a handful of sleeping pills!! Congratualtions on the new tractor, it'll be there soon. John

Sounds like a good idea. To bad the next two days at work will be real busy so will not have time to read but time will move really fast. Not sure whats harder to wait for the tractor or Christmas. Boy do I feel like a little kid waiting for this.

You could also read the manual for your digital camera!!

I agree.. read the manual.. and get stuff ready at the house... get a diesel can.. and funnels.. perhaps a spare bottle of engine oil/hygaurd oil in case you need to top anything off. Prep the area where the tractor will be living.. perhaps get your grease gun loaded and ready... etc. Maybee by a handfull of those cheap 20 cent lynch pins as you are sure to loose some now and then.

I need to get a digital camera before I can read the manual. As for setting up its new home its been done for a few weeks now. Everything else is also done and waiting. We are replacing our early 90's JD 655 with FEL with this new 4210. Cleaned out a bunch of junk that would be in the way and just hope its enough. Would hate to have to store it out doors.

Whats the best way to keep the cats off the hood when not in use????

Get a padded seat.

Seriously. My cats used to sleep all over the hood to my NH 1920 to stay out o fthe reach of the dogs.. so I started laying an old bath towell in the seat when i parked the tractor in the barn. The cats quickly figured that out and then slept inthe seat.

Other than that'.. I've found no way. Course.. I don't have any bird poop on the tractor either, as the cats pretty much handle everything on the property smaller than a dog.

They don't use it to sleep on but use it to get up into the loft. I've seen this thing that detects motion and beeps and if it gets to close it will spray something like air out. Not sure how much or where to get one.

Kmart sells a 'kitchen alarm' and it sounds if a cat jumps up to the counter? that what your looking for?
