We're staying at a local bed and breakfast near Bar Harbor and they said that, by the time we get there (3rd week in Oct.), the crowds will be gone for the season. I hope that's true. Where we will be staying will not actually be in town, but at a place that's about 4 miles out of town, off by itself.

You won't have any trouble with crowds - after Labor Day it is paradise all to yourselves. My family stayed in a campground in September one year that was so empty I was hitting golf balls with a 3 wood.

Sunrise on top of Cadillac Mtn is a fine place to be, if you're an early riser. Have a great trip.

I thought, based on the Title, that you hunt tractors up there!

Gator boy- here in northern Michigan we have seen bumper stickers that read" if it's tourist season why can't we shoot them?" Certainly won't find these at the chamber of commerce!

Kubota's seem to almost always be in season, there isn't a week that goes by here without someone posting, "I pulled the trigger on a new Kubota today!" :D

I'll be visiting New England for the first time in my life next month. We are flying into Boston, staying in Marblehead, then going up the Maine coast to Bar Harbor for a few days.

Any must see suggestions (and feel free to leave out Kubota dealers--we have those here).:D
To bad you have to wait 'till Oct to visit. Most of the fairs will be over and the foliage gone, You should come last week in Sept . All of maine is nice but you'll appreciate the N'east better if you take a ride east to west, Maine to VT on the back roads

No, we use our tractors to hunt. In the first photo you can see me taking aim with my 48" grapple. In the second I am using the tractor to sneak up on an unsuspecting fawn and two does. I haven't been successful yet but tractor season just started here and I am convinced my Kioti has it in its genes.

By the way, for those of you traveling to the Boston area: if you are looking for a Kubota, the correct pronounciation up here is KA BAH TAH

I wondered that too.

Part of the reason for the timing is our job schedules. We also wanted to wait until "off-season" to save money on airfare, lodging, and rental car--which we did. I am hopeful that not all of the foliage will be gone along the coast by then. But, it sounds like it will be from what you are saying. That's too bad. We'll still have a good time.

It is just starting hear in the Boston like yesterday I think but it is far from peek. I don't know what date you’re coming out but if it’s in the next couple of weeks there will be plenty to see. Take a day trip out route 2 on the Ma NH VT border off 495. That is the old Appellation trail. It is beautiful
