It\'s your fault!

OK, I've seen a bunch of posts thanking TBN folks for helping with a tractor purchase, but to be honest, those posts should mostly say it's all your fault!

Fact is, I wouldn't even have a tractor if it weren't for TBN. Just think of all the time I've spent using the tractor this summer when I could have been inside writing or reading or practicing my blues harp or something. Instead I was pulling stumps, splitting logs, spreading mulch and all that.

What's more, you've cost me a small fortune and it's getting worse! I spent close to 20K on a tractor, then had to buy all the usual stuff to go with it like chains and a quick hitch and lots of pins and fuel and fuel additives. Then I had to build a machinery shed to put the tractor in (another 10K). You've convinced me that I need a woodchipper, and a carry all, and a tiller. Now I'm looking at the tractor and the amount of land I have, and I'm thinking that I really need more land to go with the tractor I bought. How much is that going to cost?

Then, watching Von's thread on the UNIMOG and various threads on welding have now convinced me that I need a Hobart 180 welder and a restoration project, which, by the way, will require me to run electricity (220) to my machinery shed, or maybe build another project shed. How much is that going to cost?

And finally, with the admittedly very engrosing conversation on TBN, I spend way too much time talking to a lot of people I don't know (plus one I do) on the internet. I think I need a new computer. Good grief.

In this, all members of the TBN community are culpable. I should sue.

All I can say is thanks a lot.

Re: It\'s your fault!

Cliff,

You mean those things you describe are not normal??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Holly heck... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I'm speechless... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

By the way, I got a really nice calender at the dealer's today when I picked up two repair manuals that I ordered. Heck, they are cheaper than college text books!

Sounds like your life is normal to me...

You did not even mention the desire to have a tracked machine or an excavator. Come on...still room for improvement at your end it appears. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Natural progression...that's all...enjoy and Happy Holidays!

Yeah but you loved it Cliff /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Well maybe except for paying for it.

Happy holidays,

Aren't we good for the economy, or what? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: It\'s your fault!

Between Jeeps and Tractors the kids will get darn little when we are gone!

We have a saying on the Jeep forums:

Just
Empty
Every
Pocket

Same principle applies to tractors. Just go down to the dealer and give him all your money and get it over with /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: It\'s your fault!

Cliff: You're right and I, for one, feel pretty guilty about how I have contributed to screwing up your life. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

And that's not all; I want to do everything I can to make amends ...so I am willing to take your tractor and all of your attachments off your hands at no cost at all to you. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I wish I had known about your shed before, because I am in the middle of building a barn to house my stuff and I would have been willing to consider accepting delivery of your machinery shed. ****, now I have no room for it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am sure everyone else who hears about your plight will want to chip in and help you, too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Finally, as to your claim against all the rest of us (presumably including me), I'd like to help you there, too. If the price was right, I'd even consider suing a group that included myself, especially since that way I'd win no matter how it came out. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Unfortunately, I am not licensed in Illinois and it sounds like the kind of claim where you really should have "local counsel." /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Besides, with what you've spent, and especially if you buy more land to play on, I may end up representing your wife. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

....come to think of it, if you're prepared to pay a BIG retainer, feel free to PM me. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

But cheer up; you shouldn't have any trouble finding a lawyer. I understand that the Illinois bar, just like us here in Massachusetts, believes in providing "full client service" which some people think means that no one should ever have any trouble finding a lawyer to sue anyone over anything! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And please don't ask for any more help. I know it's Christmas, but haven't I been helpful enough??? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: It\'s your fault!

Cliff,

You should seriously think about buying a Hummer. They have discounted them pretty good right now. Over 9k off an already good price. You can get them cheaper than a Suburban right now. I know about 5 or 6 guys here on TBN that have bought them and I think you need one!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
