I've got an interesting dirt-filled hole safety problem

The first TLB I bought was a Terramite and they had the hydraulics set up so the backhoe bucket would free fall to pound objects. It was the way they recommended breaking up concrete in their owner’s manual. I must admit it was handy in some situations but sure did put a pounding on the pins and bushings. My Kubota TLB’s will not let the bucket fall and it is much friendlier to the tractor that way.

I think Mith is right, maybe with a rental but not with my tractor.

Compact in lifts.. when it's not so deep as to swallow the treactor.. you can drive ove rit for extra consolidation..

I had a special hole dug just yesterday to dispose of the rocks picked while smoothing out land into pasture. I will fill it to within no less than 2 feet of the surface and then top with dirt to the surface. I will make some effort to compact the fill but since I planned this hole in a place where a sinkhole us OK I will mainly just fill it up. The sinkhole wont sink forever and over time will firm up just fine.

Be careful when approaching the hole and filling with debris that you don't cause the sides to sluff in swallowing the machine.
