J D engines made n china?

I was talking to a fellow today about his Kubota. He was telling me that John Deere engines are made in China and that was one reason that he bought the Kubota. My 5303 was assembled in India so was wondering if the engine was made in China. It really does not matter to me as long as it works and mine is working very well.

That fellow is wrong. John Deere may now be producing engines in China (if the factory is in operation already), but it is only supposed to be for equipment built in China (unless something has changed in the two years since the press release). According to the press release they were supposed to start production at the end of 2013, so they may not be building anything there yet. According to that press release, they have factories in the US, Mexico, Argentina, France, and India. They also source certain models from other companies in other countries such as Japan and others, perhaps one of the third party models have contained a Chinese engine at some point, but it is not a typical practice for them.

Mexico also, as in the case of the Powetech engines in the 4x20's. I think there is a chinese engine in one of the Gators...but it's not a JD branded engine.
Kubota obviously makes a great engine, but so does JD and Yanmar.

My friends 2305 John Deere says MADE IN JAPAN on the engine and it saws MADE IN CHINA on the loader. John deere dealer told me it was made in georgia?? I also heard that jd was having a Korean based company build tractors starting in 2014?

I don't find it shocking they source some things from China, who doesn't these days. Sad but true. I do find it shocking we'd see a completed loader shipped from China. Even on foreign tractors in the US market they generally source loaders and hoes from the US due to the sizes and shapes. The sizes and shapes of loaders and hoes leaves lots of wasted space in shipping containers, so it's not something many companies have chosen to ship overseas often.

From my understanding, the gasoline engine used in the John Deere Gator XUV 825 is from a Chinese company.

The Gator 825i has a China made engine. Maybe castings for the loader are made in China. I've seen mfwd front axles marked made in China, also brush cutter gear boxes. I only expect to see more and more parts made in China. JD dealer should have said assembled in GA.

They used to be made in Welland Ontario along with Gators but that plant was shut down a couple of years ago.

My 5425 has a chinese front axle made by Dana-Wuxi and who knows what else. I expected it to have a Carraro axle but at some point just prior to me buying that tractor Deere switched suppliers.
