Hello all. I'm a newcommer to this web site. Just a homeowner & certainly don't claim to be a master mechanic.
I have a jacobsen 1450 (not the chief) lawn tractor I inherited from my dad. It has a 14 horse Koehler engine & a hydrostatic drive.
The manuals (74-75 model years) call for 2 types of trans. fluid. Texaco transhydral #2209 or Ford #M-2C41-A.
I can't find anyone that has a reference chart that goes back that far. Does anyone know a good equivelent fluid?
Also, the steering is getting quite a bit of play in it. Has anyone fixed that problem?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Steve.
