Here is a really, really easy question for you. I also have a F22D - which direction (up or down) is the lever in when the tractor is in four-wheel drive mode?

I have always suspected the opposite although I have never been able to confirm. In the picture below, is the current position truly in four-wheel drive mode?

Well that is interesting, and a picture is worth a thousand words. you are in 2wd in the picture. Both the F20 and fx22 that I had were the opposite. But the Writing shows is correct and your in 2wd in that position. Sorry to confuse you.

Thanks for confirming. I was stationed in Japan for three years while in the Navy and although I can still count to 10 in their language, I was never able to learn to read or identify these characters.

down is 2wd - annoyingly my difflock is a bit stiff to the 4wd lever, so if you press the difflock down, it drops out of 4wd just at the worst possible time.

there should be a grease zert on the underside of those levers.

Zert is Nipple, amusingly, in the UK - and yes its greased.
