Ever buy something that you weren't really sold on until you got it. Well that's the way it was with this Jawhorse I bought.

When I bought this thing I also bought it with the welding clamp attachment. After using it a few times I've come to realize just how handy this thing is in the shop. I'm using it almost on a daily basis. It's great for holding pipe and just about anything else. It's also very stable on the floor which is great. When you clamp something into the jaws of this thing its not slipping out. When your done with using it, It folds up and stores easily out of the way. Just thought someone would like to know about this find product.

Paul, I am glad you posted this. I had been looking at the Jawhorse but was afraid it wouldn't live up to expectations like so many other thigs I have purchaced. Have you had yours verry long?

Bill I've had mine about a month but I'm using it every day in the shop. When you get something mounted in the jaws of this thing it's not coming out. In my shop where there's limited space it's a great tool to have. If your into welding then the $70. welding attachment and jaws that come with it is worth every penny.

they want to ban political conversations, but this is what scares me.. now I have to go spend more money..
it would probably be easy to make a one size only (2x) version out of wood, foot lever and a wedge type of thing.

Paul, I tig weld a lot of stuff and trying to clamp somthing in the vice on the work bench and still be able to get in position to weld it is a PITA. With this setup I could move around it almost 360deg.

My spousal unit listened to me really well this year when it came to gift giving. I got one in my stocking.

My first project is to use for trimming down my interior doors in my almost finished basement. I got a makita rail saw to go along with it. Perfect combo for taking some material off a door.

I'll find a million other uses for it later.

For me to build this thing would take me days to do. I only build what I can't purchase or if I think I can improve on the item. If you can build one get'er done and post some photo's. We just love photo's

Same thing here Bill especially with stainless and aluminum, This thing cost me $200 and $70 for the welding attachment. Can't buy much up this way for that money and the convenience is just great. There's lots of youtube vids on there about it. Watch as many as you can and then decide.

My apologies for thread drift. Are you happy with the dust collection?

Dunno. When I hang the doors, it'll be the first time I've used it in anger. I've just played with a couple of times on junk plywood to experience the friction of the rail versus clamping it in place and also to get used to moving around it while I make a cut. I like it so far. The cuts are just so very clean and straight. It'll be perfect for taking (hopefully) fractions off the doors. They're molded six panel, but solid core.

Thanks for the info. I've been lusting after a rail saw to breakdown sheet goods and other tasks. I'm waiting for the Missus to come up with a "honey-do" project that will justify my purchasing one.:)

I saw an infomercial on these but I wasn't sold on it. I was concerned that it wouldn't be stable on 3 legs. I'll have to give it another look.
Thanks for the report.

a lot of saw stands/work stands are going to three legs now. the reason is that no matter how uneven the floor is, three legs will always be in contact with the ground. if you have a four leg device it has to have a perfectly flat surface or you will get a rock and wobble as it goes back and forth between two diagonal corners.

One word: Festool. Truly an amazing saw.
