I would say that getting over 15% off list is a very good deal on a John Deere.

instead of adding weight box, I would think about filling the tires, granted tires are all small on that tractor might not get the desired effect,. But if you can add the same amount to the tires as the weight box would be that that eliminate you having to take the box on and off.
Loaded tires are NOT a substitute for rear ballast, you need to have weight behind the rear axle.
no but on that size machine and depending on what you are doing might be fine. not moving tons of weight with that thing.
Both JD dealer and MF dealer did not recommend loading tires. They both agree weight box would be more useful.
