John Deere 1026R
I have a 2011 1026R. I have had some issues with the hydraulics. The first is that my loader wants to dump when trying to roll it back. I notice this more with the pallet forks on than with the bucket. It acts like there is a "Dead Spot" in the valve. It is worse if I am try to feather it back to level the load. My dealer knows about this and advised me that JD is working on it. Has anyone heard when they are going to get a fix for this?
Just recently I noticed that when I raise the loader booms my ballast box drops. I stop the booms and the box comes back to the up position. Also that when my tractor is idling the ballast box will drop several inches and then raise back up. When it does this I can hear a squealing noise. My tractor is currently @ the dealer for this. But, as you would figure. It is not doing it for them. Does anyone have any ideas?

The dealer say its is on more than your tractor?

I though there was a service bulletin on this issue, involving installation of some check valves in the hydraulics system? Do a search here and some more info should turn up. You're not the first to report problems like this with the 1-series.

There has been allot of talk about it on the "other JD forum", Green tractor talk. JD is working on a replacement SCV.

I had they same problem a year ago on my new 1026R. The service guy at my dealer said it wasn't right and they got JD to replace the SCV under warranty. They problem went away with the new SCV, and when I have a heavy load and feather a light curl I no longer dump the load.

My tractor too is suffering from the same symptoms and others that point to the SCV. But the dealer is saying that Deere won't cover the replacement of the SCV at this time. I have been on them about getting it fix and still no DTAC solution has been given.

Go over to green tractor talk, do a little searching, and you will find that JD is in the final testing of a new SCV.

I just took delivery of 1026R, believe the paperwork listed a RLP Date of Jan 13, 2013. Is that the build date? Even so, if I understand correctly they are still testing a fix. Should I to assume that even recent builds are still predisposed to this problem?

Thanks,

Jim

The last time I checked they are still testing. I was on Green Tractor Talk and I was told that JD has a few of the new SCV's out to customers. I will check and see if the new tractors have the new SCV in them. May take a couple of days to find out.

Thanks, really appreciate the info. I'm really having a ball with my new 1026R, so much so that I'm considering a second one. Would just leave the bucket and backhoe on the first and use the second for blower, deck, MCS, tiller and cab. Of course my lovely spouse of 37 years doesn't quite see eye-to-eye with me on this ... yet. ;-)

Regardless, I'd still like to point out to the dealer the issue and what I'm finding here from people like you. If for no other reason than to have him primed should I start having issues with the SCV.

Appreciate it!

If you get away with this one, let us all know how you did it.

It would be a good idea to go ahead and let him know. He can probably find out if the new tractors have the new SCV in them. I am still waiting on the fix. I have gotten some what used to the drop when curling. However, it is a problem when you have a heavy load on.

Well guys, the dealer I've been working with told me I had until today to take advantage of incentive specials or they'd expire. He called this afternoon after I'd spent a good portion of the day on an contractual issue and closing and had stopped at an area microbrewery for a late lunch and couple of cold beers. Had to, banker was buying!

It was either good timing ... or not, depending on how you look at it. In any case,I told him to get me the second 1026R that he'd reserved for me.

So I guess that's how ya do it ... won't my wife be surprised!

Man, what would I give to see your wife reaction when she get the news. :hissyfit:

Does this issue effect the 1025r as well? I was lead to believe that they are the same tractor.

I felt pretty good about ordering it! Still haven't had it delivered, waiting for the backordered backhoe .. Rest of the ordered stuff is in though. I've checked several times to make sure he still had it for me. My lovely wife was not, shall we say, overjoyed about the whole thing. That said, her displeasure seemed to lessen significantly when we got a new Jaguar F-Type, something she promptly declared her everyday vehicle.

We ended up getting rid of two cars to get that one, including the 2002 Thunderbird that I gave her as an anniversary gift. Up until the day we took the Jag for a test drive, she adamantly refused to get rid of her convertible. Funny how the sentimental value of that present diminished when she heard the supercharged F-Type V-8 S start. When she got in the driver's seat all sentiment was gone, with her declaring we could trade her car in on the F-Type.

I did get my 2nd tractor ordered and confirmed, though! Was out working in the yard today after a heck of a windstorm ... gotta say I loved putting the FEL to use. I'll worry about the whole "it's my car" thing till another day!

Happy tractoring!

It's been 5 months or so since my 1026R was delivered. During that time I never had any problem with the bucket drop issue. Last week a set of pallet forks was delivered and I had my first real need to use them earlier this week when unloading a pallet containing 64 gallon containers of chlorine from the back of the pickup. This was the first time I experienced the bucket drop issue when trying to feather a curl of the load. Lucky I had cleared the tailgate or that might have been nasty. Also lucky I caught it in time so I didn't dump the load on the driveway. Would've been bad for driveway and grass.

I'd already provided my dealer with links to discussions on this and the green tractor forum a few months ago so when I told him he said no problem.

If it wasn't for folks like those here sharing I would not have been prepared. Thanks!

Your Welcome. They do have a fix out for this now. It is under warranty. They have to replace the SCV.
