JD 14T with Wisconsin small engine

Hello everyone, I am Jim and new to this forum. I have been reading these threads and learned quite a bit but need more information.

I have an opportunity to by a JD 14T self powered baler with a Wisconsin 2 cylinder. It does both sisal and poly twine. It looks in good shape and is going for $2000. Demonstrated and bales were tight.

I would be running it with a '59 Case 410B that is about 6000#'s. HP not an issue since it is self powered. I was planning on pulling the baler and a hay wagon behind and extend the chute to the wagon.

So, is this a good deal???? Is there any pitfalls about this older JD baler. Any thoughts or recommendations?

One thing about a self powered baler is when the engine quits you are done baling until it is running again. With a PTO baler you can swap tractors if needed. That Wisconson engine is prone to blow the head gasket between the cylinders and parts for thre magneto are avaiable but hard to find. I have a Twin on a stand by generator running on propane and 1800 RPM. The magneto has been the only issue in 15 years. I know the 4 cylinders did not run well in hot weather and would vapor lock.

For $2000 I would hope the machine is in very good shape and not set outside. It sounds kind of high for my area.
