A friend of mine has an 06/07 JD 155c. From my research there is a bracket that keeps the PTO clutch from turning and breaking/tearing the wires. Apparently his broke, allowing the PTO clutch to torque slightly (quite possibly multiple times), and destroying the wiring as it goes into the plug that connects the wiring to the PTO clutch. There are two black wires and one white. Only one of the black wires was attached. One black one was pulled out of the plug and the white wire was sheared off. I need to know whether the second black wire was attached with the white or with the black.

I found this pic similar to his set up and problem but in his case both the black and white wires were pulled from the plug.

I am not familiar with that exact mower but my guess would be that the two black wires go together from looking at the picture.

I had a Cub with this problem where the bracket was installed wrong with the knotch in the clutch OUT of the groove.
This will let the clutch spin and it WILL pull the wires out. In my case it jerked the wires loose right at the clutch and we had to soldier them back together. (We almost had to buy a new clutch.)
If it's like this one the bracket has to mount into a horseshoe clip made into the clutch.
The rod HAS to be mounted IN THE GROOVE to engage the PTO.
