OK, the 2305, 2320, 2520.

Each "step" up seems to be longer wheel base, if I read the specs right.

If you know, which uses the HST fan, of fragile repute, and which do not?
Any other recommendations as to differences, bang for buck especially helpful.

The 2305 has the infamous HST fan which is prone to problems.. The 2320 and 2520 do NOT have the exposed fan (but im not sure how they cool the transmission though)..

I have a 2320 and it is a very nice size for my needs.. I wanted to little bit larger frame (over the 2305) due to the rough cutting i do..

I hope this helps

brian

I think that the 2520 have a problem with the lift arms hitting the rears tires..

I had a 2210 & traded it for a 2320. The 2210 is the older version of the 2305. I believe the 2320 is the best bang for the buck. I looked hard at the 2520. It has been awhile since I traded so I do not remember all of the details. As I remember, the 2520 was over $2,000 more than the 2320. The specs were not that much different. I have been very happy with the 2320. It is a great all around tractor.

Correct, the 2210/2305 is the only one with the fan. The others are cooled with a oil cooler that is just in front of the radiator.

Thanks guys. Scratching the 2305 from the list.:)

Can you help a guy out with real world comparisons between the 2320 and 2520. The 25 in direct injection while the 23 in indirect? Any big deal between that difference?

Ground Clearance?
Operators station?
3 pt control? Especially for middle buster plowing and single row cultivation.

Pretty much snow plowing and farmer questions, because that is pretty much what I do with a tractor.

Hello bp fick
Without getting too involved (long winded:)),indirect is a little quieter running than direct, but isn't as efficient because the fuel is ignited in a prechamber then pushed into the combustion chamber to finish the burn. Direct is just that, everything takes place in the combustion chamber. There are other pluses and minuses, but that is the biggest difference.

One of the other main differences between the two models is the speed of the hydraulics,to say the least, night and day. I've seen a 2305 (my neighbor) with a FEL moving last weeks snowstorm and my 2520,man what a huge difference in the speed.
Another thing too,is the 2520 has a 40 amp alternator, where the 2320 has the same 20 amp as the 2305:(
I'm sure others will chime in too.
IMHO,if you are contemplating between these two CUT's,if you could swing it,get the 2520,there are more reasons to,than not to:)

I have a 2320 that is about 1 1/2 years old now.
It's a great tractor and well worth the $$
I realize the 2520 has faster hydraulics but 1.5 seconds or what ever it is to lift the loader full height is not that important to me to spend extra $.
It mowes great with the 62D mower in low or high range, has ample power for ground engaging equipment and so far trouble free.
The 3PH doesn't hit the tires and I've had several different attachments on it.
I just wish it had a tool box.

X2, Except the mowing part, I don't mow with mine.

Anyone want to offer guidance on the ground clearance difference?

Operator's cockpit differences, if any? 3 pt hitch differences, if any?

2320 versus 2520

As I remember there was not a lot of difference in ground clearence.
The 2320 has a flat foot platform, the 2520 has a hump in the platform.
The 2320 has a mowing deck height adjustment knob in the platform.
I do not remember how the deck height was adjusted on the 2520. I do remember that was one of the features that moved me to the 2320.
I believe the 3pt hitch on the 2520 can lift about 100 lbs more than the 2320.
I believe the above information is correct, but it has been almost 3 years since I test drove the 2520.
