JD 2025R and compairables

Check out all the forums, u-joint failures, axle failures, bending fuel tank brackets that cause the filler to rub the hood, bending loader stands, auto attach mower decks that are a pain to get working correctly.

I've read the threads for years with the old 2000 series, and still saw the same issues with the 2R, so that is why I decided to look elsewhere. I used to really like Deere.
And my deal sells Deere and Kubota. I asked about Deere and he said good luck getting warranty.....you will have to fight.

It easy to read all these different forums and see lots of manufacturers that have very little complaints and problems.

that's really interesting, I had a 2520 before I traded it up to a 2720 because I just wanted a little bit more horsepower for snowblowing. I had no issues with the 2520 and the 2720 has been absolutely incredible. I've only had one problem with the 2720 and that was when I ran into a pile of brush at high-speed and hit a hidden stump which caused a hydraulic washer to blow out.
the 2720 really took a lot of abuse when I cleared a piece of land and built a pole barn, I was doing things with that tractor that were way above its abilities.

Like I said, I really wanted a 2 or 3000 series Deere. Almost bought one. I used to stop at dealers all over the U.S. and Canada when I was trucking. I even have JD memorabilia all over in my house. and obviously they aren't all bad, but after reading all the different tractor forums on the net since 2008 and reading all the reoccurring issues with each brand, lately Deere hasn't done anything to inspire my confidence in ownership. Not even with their large ag equipment.
I have also ran large Deere construction equipment. Didn't impress me over Cat and Komatsu.

My closest Massey dealer did not have any GC1700 series units. They MAY of had the larger 1700 but not in that market. Kubota is a good tractor. I just don't get wound up in all one color thing just because it's orange. Plus they are expensive AND their machines are lighter than others so I have been told. and with a tractor you can have all the power you want,but without weight you just spin your tires.

I will ask the JD dealer about how warranty claims get handled. There is another Massey dealer in the area I will call them tomorrow and see what they have in stock. B.

Awesome info thank you. I just have a small garden to plow and windrow so bigger implements would not be used. Nothing bigger than a 60" box blade would be used. And I would prolly get the 54" MMM. Do you know if the 2032R has the same foot print as the 2025R? I really don't want to get a bigger physically sized unit. I love the Mahindra's for sure. Can't beat that warranty. I even like the Branson too.

Having read through your posts I came back to this post on the first page. From my experience I would expect the 2025R to handle a 48" box blade well, the 2032R could handle a 54" box blade well and a 60" box blade in most cases. I think all of these brands are good, the larger issue is choosing the correct size to meet your expectations after you get it home and use it for awhile.

I recommend you discuss more about your uses in detail before deciding which size is the most appropriate. You can then pick the color you want. Also are you keeping your Husky and is it good for your mowing work? Is the Husky in good shape or not? All of this can have an impact on choosing the right tractor.

Go drive a 2025R and then drive a Kubota B2601 or B2650. You'll see a world of difference. I was 100% convinced that I'd be buying a Kubota when comparing those size tractors.

I know I did. That's another reason I own a Kubota. Everything works as promised and three range hydro is nicer than two. And in this area they are cheaper than green for purchase and parts.

It wouldn't matter to me if Kubota had no warranty at all, because I've never had to use it.

I think that is a smart thing to do. I looked at Mahindras with a friend of mine who has a kubota. Both of us liked the Massey offerings better for several substantial reasons. All depends on what you are looking for. If you like the Mahindra warranty . . you're going to love the warranty and insurance program Massey offers . . and that wasn't even in my top 5 reasons

Are the gph calculation numbers based on actual running hours or machine count hours ?

Every time I finish a 5 gallon container of diesel, I record the hours in a little notebook.

I don't doubt you're keeping an accurate count of gallons used. My question is which hours are you tracking . . The hours that shows on your tractor . . . or the actual running hours. There is a difference unless you always operate at the full rated rpm. I'm thinking of tracking this year to see what my consumption ends up being (actual running . . . not tractor hour counter.
