JD 2210
Well I just ordered a 2210 and need a bit of info on box blades. The dealer carries Frontier which seems to be pretty well made. He is not sure if the 2210 will handle a 5 foot box or if a 4 foot would be best. I told him I'll ask the experts on here and let him know. So anyone got any words of wisdom on which box blade to go with.

thanks for all the help
Phil

On my bx2200 I have a 48" that covers my tracks. For a regular blade I would have bought a 5' so angling it would still cover my tracks. What are you using it for..thick heavey wet soil or light dry sandy soil. Your tractor like mine may have the heart to try to pull it but might not have the weight to pull it.

Cheers
Tony

hi Super7

After a bit more searching on here I hit the jackpot and seems most people are going with the 48 and are happy with it. What size rake did you go with, I was thinking a 60 inch landscape rake. Does the rake do a good job and leave the ground ready for planting grass or is something else required?

thanks for the reply

My neighbor has had more use for it than I have so far. Its a 60" and he has used it to good effect, mostly for taking the chunks out of his yard. Just bought a 50" rototiller for the back and one of the neighbors brought over his drag, so the next few weekends its going to be till up the yard use the rake then drag the yard and put some seed down. Still flipping the coin on if its work or fun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a 48" Midwest on the back of my 2210. If you don't have rocky soil, I'll bet it would handle a five footer. The Frontiers are real nice, but I think you can get a good one for almost half what that Frontier costs. I.E. $279.50 for the Midwest @ 397lbs. vs. $540 w/tax for the Frontier @ 425lbs. The Frontier hitch part is welded though as opposed to bolted together on the Midwest. I just couldn't justify an extra $260 for that.
