I'm really not willing to go through the routine of trying to convince you. I've done it many times with passion but I am too tired from busting up concrete all day. Check Kubota Buying for some of the posts. I believe that if the Deere was cheaper, I'd still buy the Kubota, but you get what you want. I'm sure the Deere is a good tractor (yellow seat??? uh.. okee dokee).

I'll just say that there is nothing that I dislike about my BX. I do not find it to be noisy or vibrate too much. Maybe at idle (all the way down) it is a bit rough vibration wise). Up 50 RPM and there is no problems. You should not idle too low as the diesel will wash the cylinder walls (maybe).

WarrenK... I started out to buy a a Deere X5xx and then the 2210 became available and I decided on it. Before I committed, a relative convinced me to look at the BX2200. I couldn't see a lot of difference between the 2210 and the BX2200. I drove both of them a couple of times. In my case the mower deck on the 2210 was louder than the BX MMM. I didn't notice any difference in the smoothness of the engine (vibration). I ended up buying the BX because it was more than a $1000 less money, and the Kubota dealer is much closer to me.

As far as the steel body parts vs plastic. In December I sold a 1957 Power King (44 years old) and a 1988 Wheel Horse to make room for the BX. Both had metal fenders; neither was rusted. BTW, both 2210s that I looked at had metal hoods.

The bottom line is… they are both excellent tractors. However, it looks to me that the Kubota deal that you described is a better value.

Really? Hummm.... Just bought a 4110 and the dealer added around 200$ more for the folding ROPS /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
In the 4000 TEN series booklet it says that it's an option.... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Still, I can't wait to get my new 4110! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hi Warren

My dealer had both Kubota and Deere so I was able to drive em both and put em side by side, I ended up with the 2210 for most of the reasons you said, nothing major I'm sure the BX is great I just liked the deere better. He was within 50 bucks on the price so that was not a factor. I paid 12400 with FEL and 62 MMM, maybe if you mention the BX he will come down a bit. I would recomend the 62 MMM as it sticks out a bit further and is easier to get close to trees and things without the ROPS getting in the branches. I've had the 2210 for a few weeks now and have about 25 hours on it, so far I'm really happy with it, its one great mowing machine. The position of the loader control is also very handy, the bx loader capacity is a few hundred pounds less, not sure excatly off the top of my head, but the deere has had no problem lifting full buckets of dirt. Hey whats a few hundred bucks when your spending that much, might as well get the one you like and be happy for all the years you will have it. good luck shopping

The Kubota dealer said he would give me the 60"mmm and if I didn't like it he would exchange it for the 54". The main reason for getting a tractor is to do some landscaping around my new pond and 2 acres of woods. The berm on the pond is 60" wide in two spots with trees. I'll have to mow between the trees and water. Don't really want to take the trees down. Not sure if I'll have room to get through. The bigger mmm would work great on my lawn with very few trees and about 1.5 acres of flat grass.

Get the 60-inch deck if possible. It is heaver gauge metal and it has a self-balancing feature that works really well. I have property that slopes severely and I was concerned over using the 60-inch deck. My concerns were unfounded; I get a beautiful cut from my 60" MMM.

Maybe you could mulch around the trees.
