Seats don't cost much, I have put a couple on mine... My tractor has the reverser, but only 2 wheel drive. I really like the reverser. But my next tractor will either be a HST or CVT, if I keep blowing snow...

Yea, my wife talked about getting me a new seat for Christmas. We'll see if I get it or not. Money has been pretty tight this winter. If not, I'll get one come spring.

I just got mine back in October for my birthday present for myself. So far, I've been prioritizing repairs. The steering was/is first - and the cowl since the steering housing was removed. Next will be the 3PH and all fluids/filters, etc.

Everything else (running wise) is pretty tight. My steering had a full wheel turn of play. And the control for the 3PH doesn't work. The 3PH comes up strong when you start the tractor, but the control doesn't do anything. The only way to lower it is by backing off the rate-of-drop knob until it lowers. I suspect I'll find a disconnected or broken linkage inside when I get to that point.

After that its mostly causmetics. The seat, replacing the faded decals, maybe some new paint, and eventually a new canopy instead of the plywood that was put on top. Who knows, maybe some day I'll try making a cab for it? It will take some thought about what to do between the seat and 3PH though.

I put new tires on mine about 8-9 years ago, and painted the rims when I had the old tires off. Just before that, I had to go thru my 3pt. When you get your 3pt pulled, you will find that almost all the springs are shot, and you have to replace all the spool valve parts and valve seats. Doesn't cost a whole lot. I flushed out the everything in the bottom of the cases once I had it opened up, and put in all new hyd/trans oil. The only thing I failed to do, was replace the seals on the rod that goes thru the bottom of the trans/rear end [where the bottom two arms of the 3pt pivot] to work the draft control. Rig up a hoist/chainfall to lift the 3pt control assy up and it makes it alot easier to get it back together without smashing your fingers.

I plan to borrow or buy (harbor freight) a 2 ton engine hoist to remove/replace the 3PH cover. Thanks for the heads up on the 3PH. I'll check all those things while I'm in there.

I drained a little trans oil a couple of days ago just to see how bad it is...That's getting changed SOOOOOON! It is nasty!!!!

I picked mine up for $7500 and knew about the steering problem, but not the 3PH. It came with duels for the rear, a new unmounted rear tire, a new mounted front tire, and a new unmounted front tire. The current front tires are rubber filled so I'll run them for a while before they get replaced. It also came with a JD 105 disk, 8ft rear blade, and a new 7ft frontier landscape rake. I thought I got a pretty good deal even with the work it needs.

Cyril, if you want, when you get around to working on your 3pt, I still have all my old parts sales slips. I can scan them and email them to you for reference. Have a safe and happy holiday, Jerry.

Sounds good. I'll probably start that in March, after I get my tax return. I'm budgeting a couple K for things I want to do on the tractor. Including a new seat. My wife said she didn't get me a seat for Christmas because I was suppose to look at it and tell her if it was the right one. I would have sworn I told her it was, but who knows.

Anyway, Merry Christmas.

Looks like I'm starting my 3PH sooner than I expected. I'll be opening it up in a couple of weeks. Go ahead and PM or Email me with what you have for the 3PH and any advise also.
