Hello,

I'm contemplating buying a Curtis Cab for my 2305 but understand the cabs are not really designed for seasonal removal. Has anyone successfully modified a Curtis Cab for this purpose? Even if it came off as several large peices or lifted off and hung from the barn... I realize additional consideration needs to be given if the factory heater is installed, but I can deal with that in other ways as discussed in this forum.
Reason is to allow warm weather operation of the factory backhoe. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
Happy plowing everyone - great tractor.

I leave mine on all year. In the warmer weather I tilt out the front window, and remove both doors and rear cover. Why would you want the summer sun beating down on you when you can be in the shade? Rain? Who cares...you are dry! To top this off I mounted a 12 volt fan under my roof and it blows right on me. So it is July....93 and sunny and humid....my neighbors are falling over....and I am in the shade with a fan blowing on me.
Keep the Curtis on!

Thank you for the note - it appears everyone that owns a Curtis Cab on their 2305 or 2210 are happy with the product. I'm assuming the rear window can also be removed in the spring - is that true? I have no problem leaving the cab on tear 'round as long as I can operate the backhoe.

Thanks again,
Mark

If you get a soft sided cab it is a 30 second job to take the doors off and the back window (plastic). The back is held on by snaps and velcro. I too just take the doors off and the back. I have a fan hooked up and when it gets warm, I turn the fan on. Works like a champ. However, I don't have a backhoe so I can't tell you if there are any problems with it hooked up to the tractor. I would suggest talking to Curtis Cab about that portion. Otherwise, if the backhoe operation is not impacted by the cab, I would leave it on.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I don't think the cab will preclude the use of the backhoe from what you have said. The seat rotates around (which is a topic for its own discussion) and the hoe hooks up in a few minutes with no interference with the cab, other than the rear cab panel, which you've explained above. You climb into the seat from the rear of the machine, so I think I'm good to go with a soft-sided cab.
One other question - does the cab extend higher than the existing ROPS? Assume without any add-on cab lights on top.

Thanks again,
Mark

I have the Curtis hard sided cab on my 2305 the roof sticks up 1/2'' higher than the Rops.

Castiman,
Thank you for that info - I can handle 1/2" in my barn, so we're in good shape.

Thanks again,
Mark
